Covid
To ensure the safety of all involved:
- The presenter, Brian Cheaney, has been fully vaccinated since June 2021
- Workshops need to be limited to one class at a time
- The venue needs to be adequately ventilated and spacious enough accommodate the audience
- Masks must be worn at all times
- The meteorite will no longer be passed around amongst the students. The meteorite will be displayed at the front of the class for all to view
- Evening star parties will be outdoor events only. All participants will be required to wear a mask at all times. Because this is a outdoor event, it will proceed only if the weather is favourable for telescope viewing. Otherwise the event will be cancelled
- The star party will be restricted to one class at a time. Should more then one class be participating in the star party, each class will be given a 20 minute window to use the telescopes. The classes will remain separate at all times. As one class is using the telescopes the next class will wait at a separate area until the class before them have completed their viewings before proceeding to the telescopes
- The telescope eyepiece will be cleaned after each use
- Since there are no bright evening planets visible from February 2022 to May 2022, star parties will only occur when the moon is between the crescent and full phase. Basically star parties will only occur from the 5th to the 15th for February, March, April and May 2022
